We live in a fast-paced world. And it speeds up with every day we push forward in our strive to become better at what we do, more efficient in how we do it and more effective in executing it. Things that brought us to where we are today in modern Western societies.
Heavily relying on digital technologies and constantly concerned with our own aspirations, targets and responsibilities we tend to forget what really defines us as human beings – the ability to communicate, relate and empathise with the people around us.
With this in mind I encouraged people within a technology consultancy to tell me stories of appreciation about their colleagues. Strictly presented in black and white, the portraits of the protagonists of these stories focus on the persons' unique characters, underline what their colleagues value so much in them and avoid distraction to draw attention to nothing else but the person in the frame.
The photograhps and stories were printed and are now exhibited as a gallery in the headquarters for every employee, visitor and guest to see.
